From Early Childhood Care to Credit Union Professional
Right after high school, I began working in early childhood care while attending college and working towards a degree in social sciences. At that time, I banked at a local credit union, and one day, the branch manager reached out to me with an intriguing question: “Have you ever thought about working at the credit union?” The offer caught my attention because every time I visited, I was impressed by the exceptional service I received. I was excited to learn more about the position and little did I know, this would set me on a new and rewarding career path.
I started working part-time as a teller while continuing my studies. It didn’t take long for me to realize that a career at the credit union was something I could truly see myself in. As I transitioned from teller to full-time Member Service Representative and Account Specialist, I gained exposure to many different aspects of the credit union. Being part of a smaller credit union allowed me to dive into various areas, including compliance, lending, and accounting. I loved working with the members and found great satisfaction in the service I was providing.
After having my second child, I decided to step away from the credit union for a bit and took a position with the ISD that offered a more flexible schedule. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize how much I missed the member service aspect of my job. I found my way back to the credit union world, taking a Head Teller/Office Administrator position at another local credit union. Now, I’m proud to bring my experience to Limestone Financial as their Member Service Representative of Lending and Deposit Operations.
With over seven years of credit union experience under my belt, I’m grateful for all I’ve learned along the way. I truly love my career in the credit union industry, and I’m excited to continue learning and growing with Limestone Financial Credit Union. Being part of a community-focused institution, where I can make a real difference in people’s financial lives, is a privilege, and I look forward to what the future holds.
