Important Update: Stronger Passwords for Your Online Banking Security

To help keep your accounts safe, starting October 24, 2025, all online and mobile banking passwords must be at least 16 characters long.¹

If your current password is shorter than 16 characters, you’ll be prompted to update it the next time you log in on or after October 24, 2025.¹ Get a head start by updating your password before October 24.

This update is part of our ongoing commitment to protecting your financial information with the highest level of security.

What You Need to Know:

  • Minimum Length: Passwords should be at least 16 characters long.¹

  • Character Requirements: Passwords must include at least one upper case letter, one lower case letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., @, !, ? – excluding: ^, [, ], and “).

  • Who Is Affected: Any member with a password shorter than 16 characters.¹

  • Mobile App & MACO Users: If your password is shorter than 16 characters, please update it to meet the security requirement.¹

  • Third-Party Apps: If you use Quicken, QuickBooks, or other connected services, please remember to update your online banking credentials in those applications as well.

  • Updating Your Password: You may keep your current password and simply add extra characters to meet the 16-character minimum.¹

Tips for Creating a Strong Password:

  • If you have questions or need help updating your password, call us at 906-341-5866 or stop into any branch.

  • Remember: This change may take a few extra minutes, but it’s an important step in keeping your information secure.

How-To Change Your Password in the LFCU Mobile App:

  • Open the LFCU Mobile App on your phone and log in to your account.

  • From the Home Screen, select your profile icon.

  • Under Your Profile, select Change Password (found under Sign In & Security).

  • Tap the Current Password field and enter your existing password.

  • Tap the New Password field and enter your new password. Then, re-type it in the Re-type New Password field.

  • Once you’ve entered your new password, tap Change Password to save your update.

Disclosure:

¹After October 24, 2025, our system will require passwords to be at least 10 characters long. To further strengthen your account security, we recommend using a 16-character password.
