Adulting 101
A four-session course designed to provide students with tips and tricks to financially navigate life as an adult.
Hosted by Limestone Financial Credit Union, this four-week no-cost financial course is designed for students who are new to making financial decisions or those who simply want to brush up on their skills. Our team will guide students through a series of exercises aimed at building essential financial skills and the confidence needed to navigate their personal finances.
Session Schedule
Session 1 – Money Mindset
Through introspective exercises, group discussions, and case studies, you’ll gain self-awareness about your financial habits and develop a customized plan for achieving financial well-being. This course is designed to empower you to make informed financial decisions, reduce money-related stress, and help students take control of their financial future.
Session 2 – Financial Goals & Saving
Explore the art of mindful spending and identify financial goals. In this session, we will identify SMART Goals that will help outline your financial future. SMART Goals – Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, & Time Based.
Session 3 – Budgeting & Investments
In this session, we’ll dive into the fundamentals of budgeting. Learn how to create a realistic budget that fits your lifestyle and financial goals. We’ll explore tracking income and expenses, the importance of prioritizing needs over wants, and tips for sticking to your budget. Whether you’re managing a part-time job, student expenses, or planning for the future, this session will help you take control of your finances and make every dollar count.
Session 4 – Student Loans, Credit Cards, & Debt Management
Get a grip on student loans, interest rates, and repayment options. Learn how to manage debt responsibly and avoid common pitfalls. We’ll also delve into credit cards and credit scores to help you build a strong financial plan.
