Cybersecurity Awareness
In an effort to increase our cybersecurity initiatives, Limestone FCU is proud to join this national effort to promote online safety and proactive digital protection through the Building A Cyber Strong America campaign. Led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), this initiative highlights how simple, everyday actions can make a big difference.
More tips on best practices can be accessed at cisa.gov/cybersecurity-best-practices.
Update Your Software
When we see an update alert, many of us tend to hit “Remind me later.” Think twice before delaying a software update! Keeping software up to date is an easy way to stay safe online. To make it even more convenient, turn on automatic updates!
For more tips, check out this informational sheet from the campaign.
Strong Passwords
Using strong passwords and a password manager you trust is a great way to stay safe online and protect your date.
For more information on best practices, check out this site from CISA.
Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-factor authentication adds an extra layer of protection to your logins and devices.
For tips on multi-factor authentication, check out this site from CISA.
Recognize and Report Phishing Scams
Phishing and other scam attempts can come through email, text, direct messages, or even phone calls. Always verify the sender before clicking links or downloading attachments. If you spot a scam, report it right away!
We also encourage parents and guardians to review online safety best practices for youth to help the next generation build safe digital habits.
