The Limestone Legacy Foundation is an initiative that strengthens Limestone FCU’s commitment to creating a lasting impact in the communities we serve. The Foundation focuses on advancing youth and adult financial literacy, promoting youth entrepreneurship, awarding community impact grants, providing emergency assistance to members and local organizations, and funding scholarships.

$1 a month goes a long way! Make a difference today by enrolling in the $1/Month Club¹. Your contribution directly supports scholarships, grants, and financial literacy initiatives through the Limestone Legacy Foundation.
Additionally, Limestone FCU will be matching these donations up to $20,000 for the 2026 calendar year¹.

¹Contributions to the $1/Month Club support the Limestone Legacy Foundation, a separate charitable entity organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Participation is completely voluntary, and choosing not to contribute will not affect your Limestone FCU membership or access to products and services. Donations may be tax-deductible; however, tax deductibility is not guaranteed. 2025 Charles Burley Memorial Scholarship Winners
Limestone FCU and the Limestone Legacy Foundation awarded two $1,000 scholarships, totaling $2,000, to two students through the 2025 Charles Burley Memorial Scholarship. These scholarships recognize students for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to their future goals. We are proud to support their educational journeys and wish them continued success in all their future endeavors.

Learn It. Plan It. Pitch It.
Sessions Start: January 11, 2027 (date subject to change)
This program is available for middle and high school students at Manistique Area Schools. Students who want to turn an idea into a business should join this program. Learn It. Plan It. Pitch It. is designed to provide students with everything they need to build a real business.

Save the date for the fourth Annual Pitch It Competition on Tuesday, April 13, 2027, at 5:30 p.m. in the Manistique Middle & High School Community Room. Watch as students pitch their business ideas for a chance to bring their ventures to life. All are welcome to attend.

Start Young and Build Freedom
The foundation generously donated 600 copies of Start Young and Build Freedom by Simon Komlos, a financial education book designed specifically for teens and students, to help inspire the next generation of young entrepreneurs. We extend a huge thank you to our partners at Dream Publishing for the opportunity to collaborate on this book. We are excited to bring Start Young and Build Freedom into our local schools, giving students the opportunity to learn about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and building a strong financial future from a young age.
Keeping Students Warm Through Community Partnership
The Limestone Legacy Foundation was proud to support local students and families during the 3rd Annual Gear UP Gala by providing free winter coats and cold-weather essentials. Through this community-wide effort, 136 winter coats and more than 300 hats and mittens were distributed to families throughout Schoolcraft County.
In partnership with organizations including the Knights of Columbus and Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, this initiative helped ensure local students had the resources they needed to stay warm and prepared for the school year.
